| Syllabus: | Provides a broad understanding of the ecology of marine and freshwater environments. Topics include the effect of unique habitat conditions of each type of ecosystem on species distributions; disturbances in aquatic ecosystems; aquaculture pond ecology; and the effects of predator and prey interactions. Emphasis on polyculture aquatic systems and wild stock fisheries; comparison production economics of polyculture and monoculture systems; human impact on aquatic ecosystems; and the impact of aquaculture on ecological systems. |
