Syllabus: For students from non-English speaking backgrounds whose proficiency in English language might place them at a disadvantage in Australian undergraduate courses. Practice in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in a tertiary setting. Academic writing in the form of essays with some exposure to report writing. Study, library research and oral presentation skills. Vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Areas of study - cross-cultural and current issues.
