Corporate governance monitors standards and ensures compliance with the laws which authorise and regulate companies and their commercial activities. It provides a thorough coverage of the legal and administrative requirements for business and industrial administration.
Applicants should have a graduate certificate or postgraduate diploma in corporate governance or its equivalent, or a bachelor degree in business, commerce or a related field from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants would normally be expected to have a minimum of two years relevant employment experience.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
This course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.
A student who has completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval from the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:
Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (Corporate Governance).
Employment for graduates is mainly in the corporate and administrative departments of companies and in state and federal governments.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
