MClinCytogen(Curtin)
This course is not available to International Onshore Students on Student Visas
The program is a collaboration between the cytogenetics profession and the University. It will emphasise laboratory skills as well as theoretical knowledge. Cytogenetics impinges on many other areas - haematology, cytology, histopathy, psychology, nursing, and medicine.
A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in a relevant area and a minimum three years full-time work in a Cytogenetics laboratory.
A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in a relevant area and current employment in a Cytogenetics laboratory.
This fee paying course is only available on a part-time basis over three years. All students who enrol in this course must be employed in a Cytogenetics laboratory.
A student who has completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval from the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:
Graduate Certificate in Cytogenetics.
The course is designed in modular form. It is equivalent to the three semester Master programs, but because of the emphasis on laboratory acquired knowledge and skills, it will be conducted on a part-time basis over a three year period. There are a totalof ten units - some are compulsory and several optional.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
