Requires students to undertake a major research project exploring a particular aspect of management. These specialised areas of management may include strategic management, international management, tourism management, administrative management, human resource management and entrepreneurship, and small business management.
Honours degree in business, economics or commerce (minimum second class, div A), or a postgraduate diploma in business, economics or commerce.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are not considered within this course.
This course is by research and normally requires one to two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Studied as a research degree. The content of the degree should be determined in consultation with the Postgraduate Coordinator, School of Management. Students without prior studies in research methods and statistical data analysis will be required to undertake relevant preparatory units. This will increase the stated course duration.
Depending upon the major area of study chosen, graduates are eligible for membership to the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Management.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
