Designed for managers, human resource and industrial relations professionals and consultants wanting to develop and expand knowledge, personal and professional skills to develop people currently working in complex and changing organisational climates in Australia and overseas. The course features guided independent study, team projects and maximum use of information and communications technology.
A bachelor degree in business, economics or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, provided that the specific discipline in the bachelor degree is different to that of the proposed professional master or, a bachelor degree in a field other than business, economics or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution, or an honours degree, or a graduate diploma (in business, economics or commerce), or significant professional experience. Notethat thestudent may be required to complete additional foundation units at the discretion of the appropriate academic program area head.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
This fee paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available in the evening.
A student who has completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval from the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:
Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources.
Depending upon the major area of study chosen, graduates are eligible for membership to the Australian Human Resource Institute.
Graduates generally find employment positions that have an interest in or focus on human resource management and industrial relations activities in the intermediary managerial level.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
