Syllabus: |
Designed for students with TEE Applicable Mathematics. Probability. Discrete and continuous random variables. Probability functions. Cumulative distribution functions. Expected values. Special distributions. Joint probability density functions. Exploratory data analysis, numerical and graphical summaries of univariate data, and transformations. Graphical evaluation of bi-variate data, normal distribution, normal calculations, and checks for normality. Experiments, random sampling, design of experiments. Central Limit Theorem. Introduction to inference for a single mean. Checking assumptions, confidence intervals and hypothesis tests using Z and T, and SPSS. Inference for one and two proportions. Chi-squared distribution - tests for independence, homogeneity, goodness of fit, inference for one and two variances. Logistic regression - fitting and interpreting the model. |
