Characteristics of the geographical phenomena. Symbolisation of qualitative and quantitative representations. Graphic visual variables and their perceptual properties. Geometric aspects in cartography. Cartograms. Colour selection and colour matching systems. Thematic generalisation. Choropleth mapping. Representation of discrete data. Cartographic design of flow and line maps. |
