Syllabus: |
The unit aims to provide a broad understanding of the law to provide sufficient basic knowledge and skills to enable effective management decisions and interaction with professional legal advisors. Emphasis will be placed on law as it affects primary producers and agribusiness. Topics covered include - the Australian legal system, property law, tort law, contract law, consumer protection laws, credit, recovery of debts and bankruptcy law, wills, deceased estates and trusts, agency and partnerships, company law, business entity comparison. One area of law chosen by the student will be studied in depth. |
