Syllabus: |
Mechanical forces that are applied to the foot and lower limb. Properties of materials used by podiatrists. Safety requirements for handling materials. Principles of mechanical therapy using orthoses and clinical materials. Impression taking and thermoplastic insoles. Simple wedging techniques. Whole foot casting using, non-weight bearing and semi-weight bearing techniques. Repeatability and validity of casting techniques. |
