Syllabus: The focus is on planning for accessibility in urban areas. The policy framework for the current approaches to travel demand management - travel behaviour change programs, and integrated land use and transport planning. An examination of the differencesbetween mobility planning and accessibility planning. Use of different tools for measuring accessibility at strategic and local levels. Design of urban areas through the integration of land use activity and transport networks at both strategic and local levels. Place-based projects provide the opportunity to observe current activity and design solutions to create liveable streets and accessible urban places.
