It is for human rights workers, for those who would hope to work in the human rights field, for professionals who wish to apply human rights principles to their practice, development workers, Non-Government Organisation (NGO) workers, activists, teachers, mediation and conflict workers and community workers. It involves study of the theory and philosophy of human rights, across different cultural, religious, philosophical and political traditions, and how these ideas can be translated into practice in the contemporary world. This course is for those working both in Australia and internationally. It is multi-disciplinary, and provides an opportunity for those from different professions and disciplines, and from different cultural backgrounds to dialogue about human rights and to develop their ideas and skills in human rights practice. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesEducational qualification or work experience relevant to human rights practice, approved by the Head of the Centre for Human Rights Education. Acceptance into the program is also subject to an interview with staff from the Centre. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are not considered within this course. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.
