It provides dual qualifications in these areas and develops graduates with unique opportunities to obtain employment in resource development and related fields involving natural resource management. The Bachelor of Commerce program places an emphasis on decision-making, trends in technology and associated work patterns and other aspects of management in a highly competitive business arena. The programs emphasise both theoretical concepts and the application of knowledge to commerce and industry. The small business major is designed for careers in the small to medium enterprise sector and addresses subject areas central to small to medium enterprise operation and management. The business expertise developed is applicable to resource exploration and development projects, many of which are small to medium scale enterprises. NoteStudents will normally be expected to have attained a higher Tertiary Entrance Rank than is required for both single degrees. Duration and AvailabilityThe course is of four years full-time or equivalent part-time study. Course OrganisationStudents enrolled in the double degree program may elect to transfer to a single degree course in one of the two disciplines. In this event, the relevant Head of School/Department shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the single degree. Professional RecognitionGraduates of the undergraduate degree in Applied Geology are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Geological Society of Australia. The degree has been accreditedby the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
