Introduction

This course is designed for applicants who have not undertaken the Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE) or achieved the minimum Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER), to gain entry to Muresk agribusiness courses by successful completion of this course.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Available for students who do not meet the University's usual entry requirements. Successful completion will qualify students for entry to the Associate Degree and Agribusiness degree courses at Muresk Institute.

Specific Requirements

Applicants are selected on the basis of an interview.

Duration and Availability

The course is one year full-time study.

Course Organisation

The course involves one year of full-time work on an approved commercial agriculture, horticulture, viticulture or aquaculture property. Part of this study is undertaken during the compulsory residential seminars and part is undertaken while working on the property. It is a government directive that students undertaking this enabling course can only undertake designated enabling/bridging units. Students intending to study mainstream units may only undertake them in accordance with their conditions of admission and then only as part of a non-award extension fee-paying program.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. Some units within this course may have a field component, for which costs may be incurred.
