Non-physiotherapists may be accepted into the program if the area of research is within the domain of expertise of the School of Physiotherapy. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA relevant degree with a semester weighted average (SWA) of 70 per cent or better or an equivalent qualification. Applicants with a SWA of less that 70 per cent will be required to undertake appropriate bridging units. Selection is based on academic performance, the potential to undertake research, professional references and an interview. Duration and AvailabilityThe course is by research and normally requires one to two years of full-time study. The course is also available in part-time mode. Course OrganisationThis course is studied as a research degree. The content of the degree should be determined in consultation with the Director, Higher Degrees by Research, School of Physiotherapy. Students without prior studies in research methods and statistical data analysis will be required to undertake relevant preparatory units. This will increase the stated course duration. Additional Course ExpensesStudents may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. Special NoteIt is a requirement that two-thirds of this course is undertaken by research and only one-third by coursework. Students should not enrol in this research course to receive a related Professional Masters degree but rather have undertaken it as a requisitefor admission.
