Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA bachelor degree from a recognised university in a field other than financial planning. Applicants with a non-business background may be required to complete up to an additional four foundation units. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee-paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available externally. Depending on their previous field of study students may be required to complete up to four additional foundation units before commencing the first stage Professional RecognitionThis course is registered by the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) as an approved postgraduate qualification leading to the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Certification Assessment. This bypasses the CFP education program required of those with under-graduate qualifications in financial planning. The course is on the Financial Services Training Register as meeting the knowledge and skills requirements of ASIC Policy Statement (PS) 146.
