Introduction

Requires students to undertake a major research project exploring a particular aspect of management. These specialised areas of management may include strategic management, international management, tourism management, administrative management, human resource management and entrepreneurship and small business management.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Honours degree in business, economics or commerce (minimum 2nd class, div A) OR Postgraduate Diploma in business, economics or commerce.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are not considered within this course.

Duration and Availability

This course is by research and normally requires one to two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Course Organisation

Studied as a research degree. The content of the degree should be determined in consultation with the Postgraduate Coordinator, School of Management. Students without prior studies in research methods and statistical data analysis will be required to undertake relevant preparatory units. This will increase the stated course duration.

Professional Recognition

Depending upon the major area of study chosen, graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Management.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
