Areas of specialisation include physical methods of analysis, atmospheric and marine sciences. Instrumentally oriented units and projects provide the opportunities to develop a high level of analytical and experimental skill. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA bachelor degree in science with a physics major or an approved equivalent. An appropriate honours degree or the postgraduate diploma is a prerequisite for entry to the masters course. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Published works, internal reports, conference papers, and consulting work may be considered with each application. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study, when the entry requirement of honours or postgraduate diploma has been met. It is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study when entry is gained through a bachelor degree in science. Flexibility in modes of study exists to meet individual study requirements for instance, a mix of full and part-time study, or students may undertake intensive periods of course study or project work over the summer or vacation periods. Twointakes are offered each year, in March and August. Course OrganisationSpecifically, the course has been structured to accommodate student differences and preferences in areas of applied physics and instrumental physics.
