Introduction
Designed for professional logistics specialists who are interested in significantly advancing their careers in the area of logistics and strategic procurement. Areas of study include principles of logistics management, global distribution and transportation, materials management, logistics information systems, managing information systems projects and risk, purchasing and procurement, and strategic procurement. The course will meet the needs of those professionals with technical and supervisory skills inlogistics and strategic procurement.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A degree from a recognised institution in field other than logistics with a course average of no less than 60 per cent, or equivalent and at least two years relevant industry experience, or a Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with a course average of no less than 70 per cent. In addition to the above requirements, if the degree was not completed in English, applicants must meet Curtin University English competency.

Course Organisation
Consists of eight units of study, each carrying 25 credits, totalling 200 credits. It is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. Students will develop an understanding of the principles of enterprise logistics management, global distribution and transportation, materials management in an enterprise environment, strategic procurement, purchasing and procurement and managing information systems projects and risks along with one elective.
Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible to apply for membership in the Chartered Institution of Transport and membership in the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA).
Career Opportunities
Students who have successfully completed this course generally find employment in management roles within private and public organisations, utilising logistics, distribution or transportation.
