Introduction
This honours course combines advanced coursework with individual research broadly relating to the professional practice and/or critical analysis of journalism. It is particularly well suited to those intending to pursue applied research through professional practice in journalism. Students firstly engage in a semester of coursework and individual project preparation, and then complete a semester of intensive research, writing, creative and/or professional practice during their honours dissertation. Students are required to contribute to their research via presentations in an academic setting. They learn skills in individual project management, research techniques, critical thinking, analytical writing as well as detailed knowledge in their specific project area.
