Syllabus: Sedimentary petrology - transportation, deposition and diagnesis in relation to texture and structure in sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary environments. Principles of basin analysis. Metamorphic petrology - metamorphic minerals, equilibrium, phase rules, composition - assemblage diagrams pressures, temperatures, gradients and facies.
