Students will normally be expected to have attained a higher Tertiary Entrance Rank than is required for both single degrees. Duration and AvailabilityThis course is four years full-time or equivalent part-time study. Course OrganisationStudents undertake one major in Australian and Intercultural Studies, Creative Writing, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Literary Studies, Performance Studies, Professional Writing and Presentation or Publishing Practice with the major in Multimedia Design. Fifty per cent of units are taken in the Department of Communication and Cultural Studies and the other half in the Department of Design. In the Communication and Cultural Studies majors, students undertake the equivalent of six full units of compulsory core units, a major to the equivalent of eight full units in Communication and Cultural Studies and in their fourth year, the equivalent of two full units of recommended electives. In the Multimedia Design major, students undertake the equivalent ofsix full units of design foundation studies, the equivalent two full units of visual communication design specialism and the equivalent of eight full units of multimedia specialism studies which includes the planning, design and production of a major project. Students enrolled in the double degree program may elect to transfer to a single degree course in one of the two disciplines. In this event the relevant Head of Department shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the single degree.
