Introduction

The increased complexity of both professional and amateur sports administration has resulted in significantly increased resort to the law. This has increased the legal rules and cases relating to sports and has provided new solutions and punishments for unacceptable and unlawful behaviour. It focuses particularly on these current issues in sports law.

A bachelor degree or equivalent. This course is designed for Sports Administrators.

This fee-paying course is normally available over two semesters part-time study.

Professional Recognition

Graduates meet the requirements for Level 2 membership of the Australian Society of Sport Administrators (ASSA).

Career Opportunities

Graduates are expected to find employment in both the public and private sectors. Public sector employers are the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, the Education Department and Local Government authorities. Private sector employers include large sports organisations and clubs and accounting firms. Graduates may also seek employment as managers of sports players and professional bodies.
