Introduction
Provides viticulture education and training combined with technical training in principles of viticulture, grape and wine production and sensory evaluation. The honours degree is an opportunity to maximise Western Australia's competitive advantage by meeting the need for researchers in the viticulture industry. The learning model enables research skills to be gained that will enable the ability to obtain leadership roles within the viticultural industry as well as in the broader agribusiness sector.

Duration and Availability
This honours course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. Part-time students are expected to complete within two years.
Course Organisation
This program consists of project work over two semesters. Viticulture Honours 401 is undertaken as the first stage of the project work. Viticulture Honours Project 402 is the final component of the research project and covers the execution and writingof the project begun in Viticulture Honours 401. A detailed review will be completed of the relevant literature under the guidance of the supervisor and if necessary the program objectives will be refined. The necessary research and analytical skills will be developed that are required to assemble and analyse the results of the dissertation.
Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute Agricultural Science (AIAIS).
Career Opportunities
Graduates will find employment with industries associated with the supply chain of the viticultural industry, including banks, as consultants, as development officers for example.
