Introduction
Designed to open articulation pathways, primarily for International students, this course places an emphasis on decision making processes, trends in technology and associated work patterns, and other major aspects of management in the highly competitive business arena.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Successful completion of High School as outlined in the 'Minimum Academic Requirements - Diploma' for specific countries, or successful completion of the Foundation Certificate in Commerce or Curtin Foundation Studies Program or equivalent. Curtin's English requirements - CUTE C, IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 525 (195), GCE 'O' Level / 119.
Specific Requirements
At application, students are required to consult with the Course Coordinator to determine their eligibility and planned career pathways.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
The course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Course Organisation
Students undertake six core units and then select two optional units in line with the undergraduate major they intend to undertake. Students changing their undergraduate major may be requested to undertake additional units.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
Special Note
Prospective students are advised that this course is designed to open articulation pathways primarily for International Offshore students and is not intended to provide a recognised vocational qualification. Students are eligible to receive recognition of prior learning for these units when transferring to the Bachelor of Commerce.
