This double degree in Social Sciences and Secondary Education provides students with a broad education in anthropology, geography, history, politics or sociology, combined with a professional training which meets the requirements of the relevant educational bodies.

Specific Requirements
The Department of Education requires all students to pass a literacy and numeracy competence test in the first year of the degree. Applicants for this course should refer to the Criminal Record Screening/Clearance Section of this publication. STAT elements considered are E and either V or Q.

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
The course is four years full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Course Organisation
Students undertake the Anthropology, Geography, History, Politics or Sociology major in combination with the Secondary Education major. Students enrolled in the double degree program may elect to transfer to a single degree course in one of the two areas. In this event, the relevant Head of Department shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the single degree.
