Introduction
Designed for managers, human resource and industrial relations professionals and consultants wanting to develop and expand knowledge and personal and professional skills to develop people currently working in complex and changing organisational climates in Australia and overseas. The course features guided independent study, team projects and maximum use of information and communications technology.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A bachelor degree in business, commerce or a related area together with either a postgraduate qualification in a related field or at least two years in a senior level human resources managerial role. Applicants with other relevant qualifications and or experience may be considered for admission but may be required to complete additional foundation units.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available in the evening.
Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award, subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.
Professional Recognition
Depending upon the major area of study chosen, graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Human Resource Institute.
Career Opportunities
Graduates generally find employment positions that have an interest in or focus on human resource management and industrial relations activities in the intermediary managerial level.
