Properties of water, hydrostatic forces. Pressure measurement. Bernoulli and continuity equations. Flow measurement and use of pipe resistance diagrams. Pumping power. Uniform flow in open channels. Engineering applications. Meteorology, statistical hydrology, stream gauging, yield and flood estimation. Town water supply, waste water. Properties of soils, foundation design for pavements and buildings. Civil engineering projects, interpretation of plans and schedules.
