Distinguishing between the quantitative and the qualitative paradigms. Strengths and limitations of qualitative case study research. Purposes and goals of case study and ethnographic research. Sources of foci or problems to be investigated - determining the boundaries of the study. Techniques for control of bias and subjectivity - the validation of field data and interpretation classifying, reducing and analysing qualitative data. The reporting of case study and ethnographic research.
