Explores the biotechnology industry from the laboratory to the market place. Traditional biotechnology processes. Overview of the modern biotechnology industry and applications of - biopharmaceuticals, transgenics, genomics, proteomics, monoclonal antibody technology, DNA chips and diagnostics, rational drug design. Commercialisation of R&D what is intellectual property, patenting IP, contracts and licensing technology, establishing and managing a biotechnology company. Raising venture capital, stages from R&D to production, distribution, sales and marketing.
