The theme of Conceptual Illustration 391 is Establishment. This unit focuses student learning on becoming independent illustrators. In this stage of development students can choose to either write their own briefs or follow provided industry based briefs. If students decide to be entrepreneurs they must provide a written proposal and production documentation for lecturer approval. One of the strengths of illustration is that it could interpret abstract thoughts or ideas through the use of images. Conceptual Illustration 391 encourages students to create their own illustration styles. Students will be encouraged to bring their own individuality and visual expression of their illustrations to design projects such as posters, brochures, and magazines. Students will develop a range of techniques that include traditional hand rendered, digitally generated and or a combination of both methods.
