Exploration of various broad approaches to the conduct of research in Indigenous contexts including the positivist and interpretivist paradigms. Specifically, it will examine - scientific, Indigenous and other ways of knowing the world. Explores the ways in which the dominant scientific and experimental research method can devalue Indigenous peoples' knowledge and lived experiences and new and emergent approaches to research and their applicability to Indigenous contexts.
