Examination of the ethical, cultural, economic, and cross-cultural issues associated with Indigenous Australian heritage and cultural tourism. Site management and interpretation will be examined from Indigenous and legislative perspectives, including issues such as custodianship, conservation, resource rights and access, intellectual property rights, cultural protocol, native title. Constraints and enablers to Indigenous participation in enterprise will be examined and processes for building appropriate partnerships for planning and implementation will be explored. Case studies will be used to illustrate the social and economic impact and potential of cultural tourism on Indigenous Australian people. |
