Introduction to linear systems as applied to mechanical components. Unit impulse, convolution and harmonic steady state response of spring-mass systems. Laplace transforms of elementary functions, derivatives, inverse transforms, partial fractions. Introduction to Fourier series, Dirichlet conditions, Fourier series representation of periodic functions, functions with arbitrary period, complex exponential form. Discrete Fourier analysis. Fourier transforms and the sampling theorem. Dynamic modelling of linear systems using state equations. Introduction to MATLAB numerical software. |
