Broad understanding of major theoretical debates underpinning social policy process and practice in the Australian context. It pays special attention to the institutional framework of policy making - including the economic, political, cultural and Aboriginal contexts. Drawing from power and decision making theories to inform critically the study of social policy. Economic rationalism, citizenship and 'new' managerialism are covered as part of the current trend in policy debates. |
