Broad understanding of major theoretical debates underpinning social policy process and practice in the Australian context. It pays special attention to the institutional framework of policy making - including the economic, political, cultural and Aboriginal contexts. Draws from power and decision-making theories to inform critically the study of social policy. Economic rationalism, citizenship and 'new' managerialism are covered as part of current trend in policy debates. |
