The opportunity to evolve and recognise the skills and personal concerns which will become central to their practice as they progress through the course and move into careers as independent artists/designers. It provides experience in working at jewellery and precious object making, aligning conceptual development with the learning of numerous traditional skills and processes associated with jewellery and metal-smithing. In addition, students are encouraged to be innovative with these skills and processes, expanding the traditional vocabulary and finding unique solutions to the problems posed by their creative ambitions. |
