An introduction to the methodology of scientific research. Focus on issues such as forms of inquiry, problem formulation, theory construction, research designs, measurement, data analysis and validity of research. Students are expected to develop an understanding of the key components of the research process and how to handle and avoid methodological problems commonly encountered in research. As part of the unit, the student should formulate the basic plan for the honours disseration. |
