| Upon successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated an understanding of the content and process of psychotherapy with children and adolescents and of their performance as a therapist with them and their families. Demonstrated an understanding of the content and processes of child and adolescent psychotherapy that contribute to its effectiveness and developed enhanced psychotherapy skills for working with children, adolescents and their families. Demonstrated an understanding of conditions and problems that hinder the social, emotional and physical development of individuals with developmental disabilities and understanding and skills in assessment and intervention techniques aimed at improving theirs and their families' quality of life. Demonstrated an ability to construct an individual service plan for an individual with a developmental disability. Demonstrated an understanding of issues related to sexuality for people with developmental disabilities. |
