Geological hazards presented by volcanoes and earthquakes - Coastal processes. Soil erosion and desertification - Salinity. Metal and nutrient pollution. Geochemistry and health. Environmental effects of mining and energy production. Mine rehabilitation. Climate change, the global atmosphere - ozone, the greenhouse effect, local air pollution and acid rain.
