Designed to enable students to become well informed and critical observers of current policy developments in Australian education. While it will deal mainly with the current scene, it also aims to survey aspects of Australia's history of education policy-making as a necessary base to understanding the present. The major topics are the policy environment 1980 onwards, colonial legacies, the overhaul of state education in Australia 1890-1914 and education and the welfare state. |
