183307 v.3 Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and Land Information
GradDipRemSensLandInfo(Curtin)
Introduction
This course is for graduates (or equivalent) in cartography, surveying, planning, geography, computing, environmental science and related fields who seek high level training in remote sensing and land information principles and applications. The course is designed for professional updating at an advanced level or practitioners working in a relevant field. It provides a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of state-of-the-art techniques in data acquisition, storage, manipulation, presentation and application. It covers areas of remote sensing and digital mapping, cartography, land information systems and environmental management.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary educational institution. The qualification would normally be in engineering, cartography, surveying, applied science or in a relevant planning, geography, environmental, biological or agricultural science. International students may need to substitute a communication unit for one of the core units subject to an English communication diagnostic test.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications forrecognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Applicants with relevant graduate qualifications and experience may arrange a study program covering the basic course material.
