Introduction
This course is designed for rehabilitation - health professional graduates, such as occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists and speech pathologists, working in rehabilitation. Rehabilitation in this context is broadly defined to include primary, secondary and tertiary rehabilitation.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A bachelors degree in one of the related areas, plus two years of relevant postgraduate work experience. Graduate students who undertake the course are expected to have prior knowledge, abilities and skills in the area of rehabilitation. Work experience is assessed on the basis of level of seniority and responsibility, job description, work based referee support, publications or other written reports, short courses or conference attendance.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This fee paying course may be undertaken on a full-time basis in one calendar year or alternatively over three semesters. It is also available on an equivalent part-time basis with some units available externally.
Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences - (Rehabilitation) may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
