Introduction

This course is designed to enhance the skills of Indigenous graduates with a responsibility for health promotion as part of their employment in Indigenous health. Students enrolling in the course may currently be working in Indigenous health, education or related areas. The course is delivered in block mode and has a strong Indigenous focus, covering the planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion programs in Indigenous communities.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

An Associate Diploma in Aboriginal Health Studies or equivalent. Students must apply via the Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health in Geraldton.

Specific Requirements

Applicants for this course should refer to the Communicable Diseases and Criminal Record Screening/Clearance Section of this publication. Students may be required to participate in a professional placement as part of the course requirements.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study on an external basis via the Combined University Centre for Rural Health in Geraldton.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
