MProp(Curtin)

Introduction

The course is designed for those intending to expand their previous academic or professional background to become certified property valuers.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree in an appropriate field from a recognised institution or completion of the Graduate Diploma in Property and have at least one year of relevant work experience. Students without appropriate background may be required to complete additional foundation units.

Specific Requirements

Candidates without sufficient background may be required to complete one or more of the following foundation units before commencing the first stage - Economics Analysis and Asian Economics 550, Financial Management 550, Legal Environment 560, Organisational Behaviour 550.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Property Investment and Graduate Diploma in Property may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Professional Recognition

Graduates are eligible for admission to the Australian Property Institute.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on area of study. Students are required to have access to a computer with a CD Rom drive.
