Introduction

This course provides professionals with specialist knowledge and skills in the area of sexual behaviour generally considered to be anti-social or pathological. Graduates are able to integrate this specialisation into their professional discipline. It also provides a comprehensive study based on recent research of biological psychological and social aspects of human sexuality.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A recognised degree in one of the health professions, social work or welfare studies, law, criminology or the behavioural sciences including sociology or anthropology.

Applicants for this course should refer to the Communicable Diseases and Criminal Record Screening/Clearance Section of this publication.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is equivalent to two semesters of full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Course Organisation

Attendance at specified workshops is required.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.

Special Note

Prospective students should be aware that media material of a sexually graphic nature is employed.
