| Syllabus: | Mental health recovery approaches will be applied to explore complex mental health experiences across the lifespan. These mental health experiences will be explored in relation to the Mental Health Act of Western Australia. Recovery orientated assessment will be utilised to develop strategies to work alongside people in recovery. The use of the mental status exam and risk assessment will be examined; along with the exploration of utilisation safety management plans. The use of the recovery philosophy and medical model to work in the area of mental health will be compared. Contemporary occupational therapy practice and service delivery will be explored in this unit. |
