| Syllabus: | Geospatial Analysis teaches the application of appropriate statistical and analytical methodologies to data when LOCATION is an important parameter in the solution. Topics covered include exploratory spatial data analysis, spatial statistics and spatio-temporal data mining, including spatial autocorrelation, spatial regression, interpolation, optimising service centre location and allocated demand, spatial clustering, time series analysis and spatio-temporal modelling. We address the central issues associated with statistically analysing spatial data that need to be considered in all cases. We follow the PPDAC (Problem, Plan, Data, Analysis, Conclusions) framework for working through a spatial problem. Techniques learnt will be applied to a range of real-world geographic datasets and scenarios. |
