Syllabus: This unit explores how experiences of ageing are mediated by gender, age, sexuality, cultural heritage, lived experience and the human body. Students will be required to analyse current discourses about ageing, care, risk and resilience and examine their impact on shaping policy and practice. The unit will evaluate theoretical approaches to understanding experiences of ageing and integrate assessment and intervention skills for working effectively with older people.
