Syllabus: | This unit explores major psychiatric disorders and treatments in adult mental health. Students will investigate psychiatric, psychological, social and recovery discourses that inform social work practice. Students will critically examine power, privilege and professional authority. Engagement, assessment and intervention within the roles and responsibilities of the social worker and the interprofessional team will be explored. Students will assess and explore personal values, cultural belief systems and their impacts in mental health practice. |
